Nylon PA12
Filament Resistant to Heat and Chemicals
Nylon filament (PA12), thanks to its resistance to heat, alcohol, and chemicals, is particularly useful for mechanical and technical applications. It is extremely durable, strong, and wear-resistant. Moreover, it can be easily processed using metalworking tools and is easy to paint, making it a versatile and functional material. Nylon PA12 also performs well at temperatures below 0°C, allowing it to retain its properties across a wide temperature range.
It is remarkably flexible – it can elongate up to 50% before breaking. Nylon PA12 has excellent resistance to chemicals, including hydraulic fluids, oils, fuels, greases, salt water, and solvents. This makes it an excellent choice for 3D printing in automotive and industrial applications. The nylon filament is not resistant to concentrated acids and bases. Fiberlogy Nylon PA12 is a must-have for any engineering workshop equipped with a 3D printer. For even more demanding projects, we recommend reinforced nylon filaments such as PA12+CF15 (carbon fiber) and PA12+GF15 (glass fiber).
Due to the material’s shrinkage during printing, a 3D printer with a closed and heated chamber is required. This ensures consistent temperature around the printed element.
