PEI 9085

PEI 9085 - ULTEM™ 9085 Resin

PEI 9085 (made from ULTEM™ 9085 resin) is a high-performance material known for its exceptional strength. It is widely used in demanding industries such as aerospace, rail, and automotive. Thanks to its unique properties like flame retardancy (UL94 V0) and non-toxicity, it has been approved and certified for use by aircraft manufacturers (FAR 25.853) and in the railway industry (EN45545). Components made from ULTEM™ resin serve as efficient metal replacements, combining the strength of steel with the lightness of aluminum. This allows for reduced development time and manufacturing costs of fully functional parts.

PEI 9085 is resistant to wear, solvents, UV radiation, and high temperatures up to 180°C. These characteristics make it ideal for use in extreme operating environments. It also offers high dielectric strength and good thermal conductivity. Compared to other high-performance polymers like PEEK and PEKK, PEI 9085 shows slightly lower mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and creep resistance.

3D printing with PEI 9085 requires printers capable of processing high-temperature materials such as PEEK, PEKK, and PEI. To achieve optimal print quality, a heated chamber is essential to ensure uniform heat distribution throughout the print process.
